Architects Trey Trahan, Manuelle Gautrand and Anna Heringer, alongside designer Tejumola Butler Adenuga, have joined this year’s judging panel for Dezeen Awards 2025.
Dezeen Awards, in partnership with Bentley, is searching for the world’s best architecture, interiors and design. Submit your projects by Thursday 29 May to avoid late entry fees.
Now in its eighth year, the programme has become the ultimate benchmark for architects and designers everywhere, with winners selected by a prestigious panel of international judges.
Read on to find out more about who will be judging this year’s entries:

US architect Trahan, who runs his eponymous architecture practice Trahan Architects with offices in New Orleans and New York, will join this year’s architecture panel for Dezeen Awards.
Trahan Architects incorporates technological innovation and material expression in its projects. The studio recently completed the USA Pavilion for Expo Osaka 2025, which features two triangular structures centred around a translucent cube.
His studio has been awarded over 100 AIA awards and been ranked the number one US design firm by Architect 50.

Joining Trahan is Parisian architect Gautrand, founder of Manuelle Gautrand Architecture.
Working with public institutions and private clients, her core ethos is to”re-enchant the city,” proposing unexpected responses through its founding principles: reinvent, renew and innovate.
Gautrand’s bold, non-conformist approach to design led her to become the first French architect and woman to receive the prestigious European Prize for Architecture.

Nigerian designer Adenuga was named one of Dezeen’s Designers You Should Know and will join glassmaker Helle Mardahl on the design judging panel.
Adenuga, best known for his detailed ink drawings, recently pivoted into furniture, designing aluminium pieces inspired by West African fiction.
He has collaborated with international brands, including fashion labels Adidas, Birkenstock, Crocs, and Dr Martens, as well as organisations such as the British Fashion Council, Pentagram, Uber, and Soho House.

German architect Heringer, whose Obel Award-winning Anandaloy Centre in Bangladesh was recently named the most significant building of 2020, will join designer Fernando Laposse on the sustainability panel.
Heringer’s projects act as a catalyst for local development and are characterised by natural materials such as rammed earth, bamboo and wood. Another notable project includes the 2006 METI School, which received two awards – the Aga Khan Award and the Architectural Review’s Emerging Architecture Award.
Her work has been exhibited at institutions including MoMA, Cité de l’architecture, Museo ICO, V&A and Venice Architecture Biennale.
