Switzerland’s natural personal care company has just completed a new fundraising round with Breitling CEO Georges Kern. In addition to his personal investment, Georges Kern will join Soeder’s board.
This personal investment by one of Europe’s best-known luxury goods professionals, who also has experience in FMCG, will support Soeder’s acceleration into new markets and increase global brand awareness.
A loyal customer of the brand, Kern was drawn to the Soeder’s commitment to completely natural ingredients and by its high-end positioning.
“In a market saturated with synthetic products and environmentally harmful practices, Soeder stands out in its sustainability and ethical commitments,” he said in a statement.
Founded in Zürich in 2013 by Hanna and Johan Olzon Åkerström, Soeder is committed to a completely sustainable approach in producing high-end soap and personal care products. Their mission is to make skincare kinder to both the body and the environment. All Soeder products are developed, designed, and produced on-site at their Zürich factory. The company also offers a refill concept, promoting zero-waste practices and reducing the environmental impact of their packaging.
“We want to show that companies can prioritise sustainability without compromising on profitability. Georges’ involvement with Soeder, both financially and as an advisor, will help advance our mission. We want to showcase that the skincare and beauty industry can and should operate differently, and by doing so hope to set new benchmarks for quality and sustainability,” said Hanna Olzon Åkerström, co-founder and Creative Director at Soeder.
Today, Soeder’s products are available in more than 500 stores across Europe, the US, and Asia, and supplies guests and travellers through brand partnerships with respected names in the hospitality and travel sectors, including Cervo Zermatt, Hotel Amour Paris and Nice, 25hours Hotels, and SWISS International Air Lines.
Konrad Bergström, Soeder’s Chairman and the largest investor to date (and founder of Swedish electric boat pioneer X Shore and music consumer-tech pioneers Zound Industries, now Marshall Group), has been pivotal in the closing of this funding round, reinforcing his commitment to the brand’s vision and growth.
“It is rewarding to see influential figures like Georges Kern believe in our mission and join us in revolutionising the skincare industry. His support underscores the growing importance of sustainable, natural products. We are excited to continue driving innovation and expanding our reach globally,” he said.
