Black Friday FAQ
When Is Black Friday 2024?
Black Friday is unusually late this year, and the holiday officially begins on Friday, November 29. Traditionally, Black Friday starts promptly at midnight the night of Thanksgiving, though retailers like Amazon usually wait until midnight on the West Coast (so, Pacific time).
When Is Cyber Monday 2024?
This year, Cyber Monday takes place on Monday, December 2, 2024. Originally conceived by retailers to promote online shopping, it’s somewhat redundant today. While some brands will save deals specifically for Cyber Monday, the distinction between Black Friday and Cyber Monday is collapsing. For most brands and retailers, Black Friday and Cyber Monday are more of a season, which can begin as early as October and last until mid-December.
Where Are the Best Places To Shop on Black Friday?
In recent years, Amazon has offered the best Black Friday deals, both in terms of total items on sale and in terms of lowest pricing. Other retailers just can’t match the breadth of Amazon’s selection, nor beat them on pricing. However, if you’re only shopping at Amazon, you’re missing out. Target Circle and My Best Buy members can find exclusive deals you won’t find at Amazon, for instance. Likewise, you’ll sometimes find lower pricing on select items at Walmart. In addition, Amazon’s selection of clothing and furniture is limited, so you’ll want to look at other shops.
Finally, don’t miss out on savings from DTC brands that you can’t find at the big-box stores. DTC darlings like Brooklinen, Floyd, Prose, Warby Parker, and Casper host their own Black Friday sales.
To put it plainly, by the time Black Friday officially starts on Friday, Nov. 29, everything will be on sale.
